Natasha Mendez was born on May 29th, 1990 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, she is the second born of Luis Tomas Mendez and Vivian Bonelly. She went to Santiago Christian School, and after that, she got a Business Administration degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra and also from University Sup de Co Montpellier, France on the summer of 2013. After college she decided to live a healthier life. She started with some local triathlons and running events where she did really good, specially since Natasha was not into the sports while growing up. She was the first female to break 5 hrs mark for a Half Distance Triathlon in the Dominican Republic. Natasha became passionate about the sport and decided on January 2014 to join the National Team, where she got trained by Alfonso Comendador, a Cuban Native. That is when Natasha decided to turn professional, becoming the first female Dominican to compete as a “Pro” at any Ironman event. A year later, she started training with Brian Stover from the USA.
